Just a couple of days ago I went shopping at one of my favorite boutiques and saw this amazing, hot pink art deco inspired necklace. It wasn't my first time seeing this trend pop up, but it was the first time I really took notice and realized how fun and perfect for summe
r it is. It fits nicely with the tribal inspired and geometric jewelry trends that are also hot right now, no?
Alas, I did not buy the necklace, although I'm kicking myself for that now and will probably eventually go back for it in the near future. Peplums have been big in fashion since last season, but I feel like this year they're taking on a life of their own and popping up every where! I've always been a big fan of this style; it's very girlish and dainty, but still more structured than most of the popular styles today. Here are my my favorite peplum skirts and tops on the market right now:
The ASOS CURVE Exclusive Skirt With Peplum Waist ($54.54) is stylish option for a job interview or anything that requires a more professional look. It comes in mint and navy but I much prefer the navy, personally. And size wise, it's mad exclusively in sizes 14-22, making the fit perfect for plus sized fashionista's!
Another favorite of mine, also from ASOS, is the Top in Animal Print with Peplum ($45.45). Peplum tops are so much fun because you can pair them with coordinating pencil skirts, skinny jeans or even hot pants. This one in particular is great because of the print, and would look fab with a bright colored skinny belt.
