Summer is almost here, and I don't know about you, but I can't live without my rubber thong sandals. I wear 'em with shorts, sundresses, at the beach - you name it. So you can imagine my dismay when I heard from Cynthia Nellis, About.com Guide to Women's Fashion, that flip-flops might be out of style this season!
If this is true, I'm going to suck it up and be a fashion "don't" all summer long, because I'm not giving up my sandals. Flip/Flops have been around, forever never will they go out of style, if they can think of something that is more comfortable and free. I might purchase them, but for the time being, I am with you gurl on the fashion don’t. Flip Flops Rock!!!!!!!!!
Well, you won’t be alone. I’m definitely not about to stop wearing them, either.
I’d like more alternatives. Some of us don’t like the bit between the toes. They are also nearly impossible to run in. Totally impractical if you do any amount of walking.
Of course if walking for you involves getting out of a car in a parking lot, and walking through the attached mall, or setting up a spot on the beach 30 meters away, then they are for you.
But they are not for everybody, and in 2006 I was quite dismayed that nobody offered any alternatives in sandals (aside of mail order catalogs like LLBean and Land’s End)
