I was strolling through the Soho neighborhood in NYC last weekend when I stumbled upon a shiny new store on Broadway. Named 'Kira Plastinina,' the boutique was glossy and hot pink, filled to the brim with affordable fashions that teen girls were scooping up by the armful. I did a little research, and Kira Plastinina is a real person, and she's turning 16 on June 1st!
Kira Plastinina is from Russia (her dad is one of the country's largest dairy producers), and she's not only a budding fashion star - she's also a 10th grade high school student. Although that seems like a lot to handle, Kira explains her balancing act like this: "I would like to be an example to young people to show them that if they really like something and have a passion for it, then they can achieve it and make their dreams come true. I'm really proud of myself for doing this and hope that I can help teens express themselves through their own unique style."
If you want to check out the line yourself, you can hit up the Kira Plastinina website, where e-commerce should be launching any minute.

Kira is really wonderful! She is very persevering girl, and i’m sure that she is going to become the best fashion-designer in the world!
Awesome but she says that “I would like to be an example to young people to show them that if they really like something and have a passion for it, then they can achieve it and make their dreams come true. I’m really proud of myself”
but really she didn’t need to struggle at all, just design something and have her superrich dad pay for everything.
