The Jumpsuit: Hot or Not?

From Stephanie Prommer, About.com GuideApril 9, 2009

There is no denying that one of the biggest trends in the upcoming season is the jumpsuit. But to be honest, I'm not sure if it's one that a 'normal' girl like me looks right attempting to pull off.

Take this $128 Linen Twill Alex Jumpsuit from Free People, for example. Even though I know it's really cool, I have the distinct feeling that I would end up looking like a gas station attendant if I tried to wear it. What do you think - are jumpsuits worth trying?

It definitely looks like something a gas station attendant would wear. I don’t think many people could really pull it off. I think it’ll be one of those things that always looks a little weird. However, some of the ones that look like a dress but are actually a jumpsuit are ok. But then you may as well wear a dress.

To be honest, there are way cuter jumpsuits then that, that are sleeveless denim one that has a belt to complete it off. This one look like a janitors uniform ,why show this when there are other nicer looking jumpsuits?

I think the wearability of a jumpsuit depends a lot on the fabric that it’s made of. For example, one that’s made of shimmering satin in black coupled with the right accessories (e.g. killer heels)could bring you from day to night.
