L.A. may have the Oscars and its Vanity Fair after-party, but in New York City, the biggest fashion event of the year is the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala. The event was held last night, May 4th, and the theme was "The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion."
Just about every star you can think of was there in their evening finery (Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, Madonna, Rihanna, Leighton Meester, Blake Lively, Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson, Kate Bosworth, Victoria Beckham and Kanye West, to name a few), including 18-year-old starlet Emma Roberts. Emma took a fashion risk and went out on a limb in an Atelier Versace Haute Couture scarlet minidress covered in giant circular paillettes. I think she looks fantastic, but I can't imagine that it was easy to sit down in that dress - can you?
