This week I was invited to attend an episode of The Martha Stewart Show. Going to the taping would be cool anyway, but this was their special breast cancer show - and that is a cause that's extremely important to me. Martha looked so polished (as you'd expect) in her pale pink sweater and scarf, and I was really impressed by how she basically aced the whole show on the first take.
During the show Martha introduced a new crafty Warrior Stamping Kit that was created in coalition with Ford Warriors in Pink. I think it would be fun to stamp wrapping paper and folders with the kit, but the best part is that 100% of net proceeds from the $32 sale price are donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
There's always a big surprise during a special show, and this one was no different. The audience was made up of breast cancer survivors and their loved ones, and one lucky lady won a new Ford customized by Martha! When I saw the winner (who is a survivor) I was awestruck by how young she was, which brought home the all-important reminder of self-testing beginning at an early age. Please, pretty please check yourself out just to be on the safe side! If you need advice on how to do this, read this article on The Five Steps of a Breast Self-Exam. XOXO!
