Zac Posen is releasing his hotly anticipated collection for Target on April 25th, and one of the key pieces in the lookbook is a tuxedo (pictured, above).
A nod to vintage Yves saint Laurent, Posen explained that his design also speaks to current events. "Lesbian proms have been such a big thing in the news lately," Posen told TeenVogue.com. "Rather than create a fake subculture, I wanted to address things that are actually happening."
Regardless of sexual orientation, it just takes confidence to wear a tux, the designer explained. "It's a kick-ass girl who can wear a tuxedo to prom! Don't be afraid of drama," he added. "Prom is one of the few opportunities in life when you can fulfill any romantic desires you have."
Btw...if you're in the NYC area, there's a special 24-hour Zac Posen for Target shopping party on April 15th-16th where you can cop the entire collection before it hits stores. There are scheduled performances by The Like and DJs Kid America, The Other Will and Luisiul - and I'm betting Zac will make an appearance.
