Costume Institute + Gap

Last night was the glamorous Costume Institute gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, where tons of celebrities feted the museum's newest display of clothing. This year the theme of the exhibition is American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity, and as such there will be garments tracing the history of women's clothing throughout the United States.

Fittingly, all-American retailer Gap has partnered up to help sponsor the exhibition, and the company also came up with a line of seven limited-edition tees representing women throughout the ages in celebration of the occasion. For example, there's the $44.50 Gibson Girl top (pictured, below):
