Innovative denim brand G-Star RAW held its Spring 2011 runway show on Tuesday evening at Pier 94 in NYC, and it was a relatively subdued collection in comparison to the company's previous color-saturated show. In terms of women's looks the silhouettes varied from billowy jean dresses and trousers to teeny bleached cut-offs - which exemplified how versatile denim can be.
Unsurprisingly the color palette of dark denim, white and camel carried seamlessly over to the men's collection as well. In my opinion the brand's take on denim shorts was a standout, and succeeded in transforming a piece that's usually better left for weekend wear into something chic and sophisticated.
In terms of star power, once again the show did not disappoint. Liv Tyler, Kelly Osbourne, singers Kelly Rowland and Natasha Bedingfield and America's Next Top Model stars J. Alexander and Jay Manuel were all on hand to bring their wattage to the front row.
