About Ashley: You know and love her as spoiled, designer-clad Sharpay Evans from High School Musical and its sequel, but in real life Ashley Tisdale's style is much more accessible and laid back. Here, Ashley shares her favorite designers and style icons, as well as her fashion weaknesses!
Ashley's Style: Growing up, Ashley told us that she worked at Wet Seal, Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister, so she's certainly no stranger to fashion! When asked to describe her style, she says: “It just depends. Like every single day it’s something different. It’s either really casual to like really chic and couture. So it depends on how I feel. I always feel like clothes are how I express myself and what I’m feeling like that day.”
Her Must-Haves: When asked what kinds of clothing she likes, Ashley says: "I’m a really big sweats fan — I love sweatshirts and sweatpants. When I’m not working I really wear that all the time.” As for her shoe of choice, the star says: “I love flats, they’re so comfortable.” See, she really is just like us!
A Peek in Her Closet: Since Sharpay has such an amazing wardrobe, I asked Ashley what her own closet is like. She shares: “I have like a room that’s my closet and it’s so messy!" As for what brands are in her room, she says: "I love Scoop the store, I love Free City sweats, Rebel Yell sweats, 2B Free, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, and James Perse - I love their T-Shirts and tank tops."
Ashley's Fashion Splurges: Ashley says that "sunglasses and purses are my weaknesses. I love aviators. I have the gold aviators from Marc Jacobs and it’s one of my favorite pairs.” But even though she splurges sometimes, for the most part Ashley is a budget shopper. She says: "I really like the end of the month sale kind of thing where they have everything marked down which is really cool. I don’t really get that one item that’s really expensive because then I feel like I didn’t buy anything. So I’m always the type of shopper that likes to get a quantity of things so usually I go for the more inexpensive stuff.”
Her Style Icons: She's got amazing taste herself, but Ashley also looks up to other celebs for style guidance. She says: “I’m such a huge fan of Gwen Stefani." Another fashion role model? Victoria Beckham. Ashley says: “I love her style. She’s so, so cute.”
Ashley's Advice: Since Ashley is such a style pro, I couldn't help but ask her advice for young girls everywhere. She says that good style comes from mixing and matching, explaining: “I think it’s all about how you put stuff together and accessorize. You can put the same T-Shirt with jeans and it looks different, to wearing it with a skirt or with cute boots. Just mix up your wardrobe, just keep mixing it up and it always looks like a new outfit.” Sounds like great advice to me!
