When Miss Teen Maryland Kamie Crawford was crowned Miss Teen USA at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas on July 24th, 2010, the 17-year-old high school cheerleader became the first person from Maryland to win the title. I had the chance to speak to Kamie about her fashion style and what she plans on doing in the future, so here is my interview with Miss Teen USA Kamie Crawford:
You're the first winner from your state - how does that feel?

Kamie: It feels amazing - I made history! I'm really proud of myself.
How would you describe your fashion style?

If I go to a store and I see it and I like it, then I'll get it. I make outfits in my head with what I already have, but I don't really have a particular fashion style.
Where are your favorite places to shop?
I love Urban Outfitters and I LOVE Forever 21 - it's like my favorite place. I don't like to spend too much on clothes, and you can find cute things that aren't that expensive.
What advice would you give other teens about having great style?
You need to wear things you feel confident in and are comfortable in. You don't have to follow the trends; make it your own kind of style.
What advice would you give other teens who want to enter pageants?
You have to be mentally prepared first. Since the Miss Teen Maryland pageant was my first, I had to prepare mentally for it. It's very very different. I would say to go in and come out with no regrets.
What are your future plans?
Next year I plan on attending the University of Alabama pre-med, and I'll be studying to become a dermatologist. I'd really like to have my own line of skin care products, because I've seen a lot of people who have skin conditions and sometimes they might be embarrassed talking to other people. I'd like to help people feel more confident about themselves.
