How would you describe your fashion style?
Do you draw inspiration from any other celebs on how to dress?
Do you work with a stylist for your appearances, or do you dress yourself?
Have you ever regretted an outfit you've worn in public?
An excellent question. I feel the best response is not so much one that I regret, but rather that I find entertaining. When I was 18 (legal drinking age in my home of Alberta) I worked at the Calgary Stampede as a bartender. I may or may not have had a lot to drink at the end of my last shift and went over to a western wear store.
I woke up the next morning at my friend's house wearing this triple extra large denim shirt with all kinds of strange patterns on it and multi-coloured sleeves. I asked a friend where it came from and was told that I bought it the night before using all my tip money, even though it was nowhere near my size. There were a lot of pictures taken. It became a famous shirt for me. I still wear it from time to time.
What are some of your favorite brands or stores?
I'm honestly not all that governed by brands. That's not to say I have anything against big brand names. I'm more of an impulse buyer. Be it from a big store or a dude on the beach, I have no preference. I do find myself in The Bay rather often though. What can we look forward to from you in the future?
Right now I'm in the final stages of recording a solo album. It is Country/Pop/Rock and is likely to come out this fall. Additionally, I am set to play the lead in a new TV series that will be shooting late 2010 called The Valentines. It follows the lives of a group of students submerged into an action-packed world of mystery, love, deception and supernatural beings.
For now that is all I can say on that little gem. You can check out my website www.wesleymacinnes.com to stay up to date with what I'm up to.
Do you have any advice on how to follow in your career footsteps?
Surely I can think of something. For anyone chasing the entertainment biz dream you have to do two things in my opinion. First, get good at what you want to do. Really put in the time and effort, be that getting into theater projects, starting up a band or anything else.
The second thing is to not be afraid to dive in. You'll never feel 100% ready to go out to that first audition but you have to give it a whirl. Practice only pays off if you actually get out there and use it.
