Coye Nokes is the designer of a footwear brand by the same name, which focuses on creating shoes for the modern, working girl. Her shoes are made by artisans in the Marché region of Italy, and the collection launched for fall/winter 2009. Here is an exclusive interview with shoe designer Coye Nokes about her brand:
How Did You Start Your Own Line?

Coye: I have always loved shoes and hoped to start my own line one day. I was working in London as a retail consultant and was always struggling to find shoes that were fashionable and functional for work.
After several years of consulting for other brands, I decided to go for it in late 2008! We went into development for our Fall | Winter 2009 collection in late 2008. I spent several months working with my factory in Italy to get the collection ready and we launched in February of 2009.
Where Do You Get Your Inspiration?

I was inspired to launch the collection by my own search for a fashion work shoe - a shoe that fits the life of the modern career girl. Our ‘office with an edge’ collection takes her from day to night with ease and style. I have always been inspired by the strong women around me who manage it all and do it with style. I look to these women for inspiration and also to my experiences, my travels and style influences.
Are There Any Celebrities That You'd Like to Dress?

Katie Holmes, Reese Witherspoon, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson have great style and I would love to see them in our shoes.
