Jeans are a staple of nearly every teen's wardrobe, so it's not surprising that a load of trendy new styles of denim crop up every year. From destroyed denim to jeggings, there are cuts and washes for everyone this season. Here are the coolest back-to-school denim trends for fall 2010:

Destroyed: Aeropostale "Destroyed Super Dark Bootcut Jean," $54.50

Ripped, torn, bleached out and destroyed denim will be a big trend for back-to-school this season. If you don't want to invest in a new pair of jeans, consider shredding an old pair yourself!

Jegging: Abercrombie & Fitch "Jegging" in Rinse, $48

The legging trend is still strong for fall, which means that jeggings are going to be more popular than ever. For an of-the-moment look, you can opt for an acid washed or embellished pair.

Flare: Hollister Co. "Cali Flare" in Medium Wash, $49.50

In the complete opposite direction from the ubiquitous skinny jean is the flare or bell bottom, which will be making a comeback this season. To keep the look from being too big all over, try to pair them with a slim-fitting or tucked-in top.

Unique: Delia's "Gemma Low-Rise Skinny Jean," $49.50

Unusual embellishments like paint splatters, floral appliques or patchwork will also be important for fall 2010. Again, you can experiment with an old pair of jeans and try adding patches to them yourself.
