Incorporated in 1927 by an Italian shoemaker named Salvatore Ferragamo, the Ferragamo brand is still completely family-owned and is now headed by Salvatore's eldest son Ferruccio. The Marisa bag is the must-have shape from Ferragamo and is distinguishable by its logo loop closure made out of nickel-plated bronze (which the company calls its "Gancini" closure).
