Dolce and Gabbana

The Dolce & Gabbana brand is actually the creation of design duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, who met while working as fashion assistants in Milan. They started the label together in 1985, when they took part in an Italian fashion show to launch "New Talents." The following year, they presented their first women's ready-to-wear show. Known for their showy, sexy designs, the pair is no stranger to Hollywood glamour, having dressed Madonna, Halle Berry, and countless other celebs for red carpet events. So it's no surprise that their design process is similar to a film: "When we design it's like a movie," Domenico Dolce says, adding "We think of a story and we design the clothes to go with it."
