About Chandra:
I am really impressed with the way that Chandra Pickett expresses herself - both through her colorful clothing and in her brilliant philosophy on style.Age:
13Hometown:
Originally from Washington, D.C., Chandra now lives in Montgomery County, MarylandWhat She's Wearing:
In this fantastically fun photo, Chandra is wearing a vest from H&M, jeans from Old Navy, bracelets and earrings from Claire's, and a T-Shirt that she said she got "from a stand in the mall with stuff that has to deal with Washington, D.C."How She Describes Her Style:
When asked to describe her style, Chandra said: "I consider my style to be one-of-a-kind, original and unique, because the way I dress on certain days gives people hints on what kind of mood I'm in. Like, if I'm happy, I'll wear a lot of colors, if I'm sad I'll wear dark colors, when I'm just hanging outside with my freinds on the weekend I'll wear something casual, and if I'm in just a plain mood when there's nothing to do usually I put on some jeans and a shirt."Fave Places to Shop:
A true shopper after my own heart, Chandra says her favorite stores are Aeropostale, Foot Locker, Gussini (a shop in Maryland), Target, Wal-Mart, Forever 21, H&M, Old Navy, Journey's, Claire's, Bakers, Macy's, and JC Penney. She says: "I basically walk in all the girl stores in the mall and look around and see what I like. Also, I shop online when certain things aren't in the stores."Style Icons:
When I asked Chandra who her style icons are, she said: "I don't look up to celebs. I look at their styles and see what everybody's wearing and I combine all of that together and that's how I knew I wanted to be different. I didn't want to look like everyone else." How great is that? How to Get Her Style:
When I asked Chandra her advice on getting great style, she said: "I would tell all teens that you're much more than your hips and thighs and that you don't need to show your stomach or a little cleavage to look hot - you can look hot without showing all of that. The friends I hang out with don't show all parts of their body parts, and we play hard to get and the boys respect us and our bodies much, much more!"Want to Be a Real-Life Style Star?:
