East Coast Fashion Schools:
Located in America's fashion capital, New York City, Pratt and Parsons are two of the most prominent fashion design colleges in the nation. Both schools offer a BFA, and Parsons is the former teaching home of Tim Gunn, host of Project Runway. Drexel University is located in the nearby city of Philadelphia, and also offers a BFA in Fashion Design.
West Coast Fashion Schools:
Along with being a celebrity mecca, California is home to some respected CFDA-approved fashion schools - CCA and Academy of Art University, to name two. FIDM is a school that has received a lot of media attention due to the fact that Lauren Conrad of The Hills fame attended classes at the institution.
Midwestern Fashion Schools:
The Midwest has a wealth of great fashion programs that should not be ignored. Kent State and the University of Cincinnati are both partners with Teen Vogue's scholarship program, and SAIC is the alma mater of designer Cynthia Rowley.
Southern Fashion Schools:
If you're intent on going to school in the South, you'll be excited to know that Savannah College of Art and Design's guest speakers have included designers like Zac Posen and Miuccia Prada, the designer of the Prada and Miu Miu lines..
