Unless you've been pulling a Rip Van Winkle, you know ankle boots are red-hot! But do you have to be a supermodel to rock 'em? I ran into model Veronica Webb at QVC's FFANY Shoes on Sale gala, so I asked her. "I love ankle boots," she raved, adding "they really can make a little dress look tough and give it a new look. They're also great with leather leggings." I'm not sure about leather leggings, but I agree that booties will look fierce with summer dresses - especially with dark tights. Here's my top 5 picks:

Take a look at the details on these cuties! The bows on the back are perfect for showing off with ankle-length jeans, and the suede is so soft. Just be sure to treat them with a waterproofing spray before wearing out for the first time.

Ashley Tisdale is a big fan of Seychelle's booties, so they must be cool, right? These have a sturdy cone-shaped heel that's a breeze to walk in, and the rich leather will only look more chic as it gets worn in over time.

For those ladies who are afraid to try the full-on bootie trend, this is a great compromise. The plunging cut of the vamp visually elongates the leg, while the silver leather is completely eye-catching. My philosophy on metallic shoes is since they go with nothing, they match everything!

For the risk-taker, this is one hot boot! The circle cut-out just begs to be paired with vibrant-hued tights, which will allow a little bit of color to peek through the hole. Bonus: The heel is luxe plum suede, which adds an extra element of surprise.
