I was watching the women's Olympic snowboarding halfpipe competition last night (yay, Hannah Teter!), and I thought the 'jean' snowboard pants that the U.S. team was wearing were soooo sweet.
Turns out they're made by Burton, and although they look just like distressed denim, they're actually super duper hi-tech. Constructed with Gore-Tex, the pants are completely waterproof and are just treated to look like jeans.
Some people have dissed the uniform saying it's too casual for the Olympics, but Burton's Creative Director Greg Dasycyn told ESPN that "This is snowboarding. It's never been a uniform sport, so we wanted to create a look that would reflect those unique qualities of our sport, but still capture a classic American feel." All I wanna know is: When are these pants gonna be for sale?

That’s what I want to know too! They are awesome.
These pants actually are not that new. Kelly Clark wore them before they were debuted at the Olympics.

Those pants will be available from Burton 2010-2011 season, called Vancouver Pants. I saw those online at http://www.snocon.com in Seattle taking pre-order. Looks like its super duper limited run.
